Took the 6:15 express for months, then one rainy Tuesday made me switch back to the slow local
For about 8 months I was team express bus, the one that runs from the edge of town straight downtown with just two stops. It shaved 12 minutes off my ride, and I loved bragging about it. Then last Tuesday it rained and the express sat in a jam on the bridge for 25 minutes while I watched the local roll past us in the other lane, half empty. I started doing the math on the slow route: it stops 14 times but it never gets stuck because it cuts through the side streets. I ride the local now and honestly those extra minutes are nicer than the fast ones were. I get a seat almost every time, I finish my coffee, and I don't spend the whole ride clenching my jaw at traffic. Anybody else flip from the fast option to the slow one on purpose, and did you regret it later?
