Took the express bus vs local bus for 6 months, express wins every time

The express bus saves me 22 minutes each way because it skips 8 stops near the mall. Has anyone else found a route hack that cuts down their commute time?

@lucasschmidt I get where you're coming from but those 22 minutes add up fast. Over a week that's almost 4 hours I get back. I used to take the local and just felt like I was wasting time staring at the same mall stops every day. Express has fewer stops so I'm actually more relaxed since I'm not constantly stopping and starting. Sure delays happen but the local bus gets stuck in the same traffic jams.

Lol okay I gotta push back on this. Those 22 minutes you're saving are probably just making you rush into a seat where you're stuck staring at your phone instead of actually winding down from work. The local bus gives you time to people watch, catch up on texts, or just chill without feeling like you wasted anything. Plus express buses fill up way faster so you're standing half the time anyway, which sucks when you've been on your feet all day. And what happens when the express bus breaks down or gets stuck in traffic? You're totally screwed with no backup. Trust me I tried the express for a month and ended up more stressed because I was so focused on that time savings that every little delay felt like a disaster. The local bus might take longer but at least you know what you're getting into.

Man @lucasschmidt you're acting like those 22 minutes are life or death. Its just a bus ride, not a whole lifestyle change.
