Update on my bus stop rage: a driver told me to just wave from the curb

I used to sprint and yell, but now I just stand there and lift a hand, and the bus actually stops more often. Anyone else get better results from being less frantic?

Read a city transit blog that said clear, calm signals are easier for drivers to spot in busy traffic. They process a simple hand raise way faster than someone jumping around. Makes total sense now.

Seriously, it's like flagging down a plane versus a bus. I used to wave my whole arm and they'd blow right past. Now I just stand at the stop, make eye contact, and give a solid, slow wave from the elbow. Works every single time, no stress for either of us.

Turns out bus drivers prefer a calm passenger over a live action movie star. My frantic waving just made me look like a confused crossing guard. A simple lift of the hand gets the job done without the drama.
