Wasted $60 on a parking app premium pass that was completely useless

So I fell for one of those parking apps that promised to find me cheap spots in downtown Austin and I paid $60 for their 'premium' pass. Turns out the spots it showed were either already taken or in sketchy lots that charged extra fees anyway. I ended up paying even more for parking on top of the app cost over two weeks before I deleted it. Anyone else get tricked by one of those parking apps that claim to save you money but actually make things worse?

Wait, $60? That's rough but also, like, did you check any reviews before buying? I fell for a similar app once and it was annoying but I just asked for a refund and moved on. Honestly, parking in any city is a mess regardless of what app you use, this one just sounds like it didn't deliver, but calling it a scam feels a bit dramatic.

Did you actually try getting a refund though? Most of these apps have a money-back guarantee if you push hard enough.

Paid $40 for one of those last year and the app sent me to a lot that was literally closed for construction. Silver lining was I found a free street spot three blocks away after circling for twenty minutes. These apps are just a scam dressed up with a slick interface and some fake five star reviews.
