A customer's simple question about my diagnostic process made me stop and think

After a regular in our shop asked 'But how do you know that's the actual problem?' during a motherboard swap, I now force myself to write down the exact test result that points to each faulty component before I even touch a screwdriver.

Ever have a customer watch you work and suddenly realize you're just guessing? Writing down the proof before you start keeps you honest and saves you from looking dumb when they ask. It's a simple habit that forces you to actually diagnose instead of just swapping parts.
