Can we talk about hitting 40 dead hard drives in my bucket this year?
I keep a milk crate under my bench for drives pulled from client machines, and last Friday I counted 40 since January. That number got me thinking about how many were Seagate 3TB units from that bad batch around 2014, seems like half of them came from the same office in Beaverton. I started labeling each one with the client name and date now, mostly so I can tell folks their data was actually gone and not just hiding. Does anyone else keep a junk pile like this, or am I the only one hoarding dead drives?
