Customer said 'just reset it' and it made me rethink my whole process

Had a guy last Tuesday at a shop in Akron tell me he fixes his own PC by slamming the power button 5 times fast. I laughed at first, but then I realized how many of my standard steps are just habits, not fixes. Any of you ever had a customer's weird hack actually work better than what you were taught?

Honestly, @vera514 just proved it, sometimes the dumb old stuff beats what we're told to do.

Read somewhere that cap draining works better than the manual steps.
