Is it worth doing a full reinstall or just hunting down the problem driver?

Last Tuesday I spent 4 hours on a Dell OptiPlex 7060 in Austin that kept blue screening with VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE. My gut said it was the GPU driver from a Windows update 3 weeks ago, but my coworker insists he just wipes everything and starts fresh every time now. Which side are you on when a machine is acting up like that... hunt down the one bad file or nuke the whole OS?

Hunting down the problem driver" - said no one ever who hasn't wasted a whole Tuesday doing exactly that.

Always the same pattern, fix one thing and two more pop up like it's personal.

Respectfully, I see it different. Each thing you fix actually teaches you something about the whole system. It's like getting to know a car you just bought - every weird noise tells you a story. @taylor.hayden knows the struggle, but that driver hunt usually leads to finally understanding how everything connects. The frustration is real, no argument there. But each pop-up problem is really just showing you the next layer you hadn't uncovered yet. Eventually you get to the bottom, and things actually stay fixed longer.
