PSA: a client asked me to delete her browsing history before her husband got home, and I had to say no
She showed up at my bench in Sacramento on a Tuesday, laptop in a grocery bag, and asked if I could wipe the last 6 months of history before 5pm. I said that's not a repair, that's evidence, and I don't touch it. She got mad, said the last guy at a big box store did it for $40, and walked out. Here's the part that stuck: she came back two weeks later for a real virus cleanup and acted like nothing happened. I still think the $40 guy is the reason half my clients think we're all wizards with no rules. Anyone else got a script you use for these requests so it doesn't turn into a fight?
