Unpopular opinion: those $40 thermal paste kits are a waste, plain dielectric grease from the hardware store worked fine
I bought one of those fancy cleaning and paste kits for around $40 last year and honestly the $6 tube of silicone grease from Ace did the same job on a Dell I repasted in March. Temps dropped 12C on the CPU either way. Anyone else think the branded paste markup is mostly hype, or am I missing something?

Yeah, that $6 Ace grease is all you need, same deal here.
