A client's simple comment made me stop using a broom on green concrete

I was finishing a patio in Tempe last month and used a wet broom for texture like I always have. The homeowner watched for a bit and said, 'That looks like it's pulling the cream up, not just marking it.' I stopped and looked closer, and he was right. The bristles were dragging fines to the surface and making a weak skin. Now I use a much drier broom and just kiss the surface. It gives a better grip and holds up. Anyone else had a basic tool habit that was actually hurting the finish?

Tbh we probably wreck more work with "standard" methods than we ever do with new ones.

Exactly, the old ways can be the most dangerous.

Ever wonder why they became standard?
