A new guy on the site said he never uses a broom finish anymore
I was grabbing coffee near the job in Tacoma and overheard a younger finisher telling his crew that a power trowel with a plastic blade gives a better texture than a broom for most walkways. It made me think about how many specs still call for a broom out of habit. What's your take on the classic broom finish versus newer methods?

Consider slip resistance testing data.

Hold up, that new guy might be onto something. Specs are old and don't always mean better. Like @nancycooper said, the data on slip resistance might surprise you. A plastic blade finish can be just as good for grip.
