Blew my mind that a 4 inch slump can still pass inspection
Was reading through ACI 301 specs last week for a job in Tacoma and found out that a 4 inch slump test result can technically still pass if the mix design calls for it and the air content is right. I always thought anything under 5 inches was a red flag for pumpability, but the numbers say otherwise. Has anyone else run into a spec that allowed a stiffer mix than you'd normally trust for a slab pour?
