Cold joint fix that actually held up on a 900 sq ft garage slab in Fresno
Had a pour last month where we got stuck waiting almost 50 minutes on a third truck, and the edge went past initial set on me. Instead of slapping a bonding agent on it, an older finisher on the crew had me chip the face back about an inch with a chisel until I hit sound aggregate. Then we wet it down, brushed a thin cement slurry on, and poured right into it while it was still tacky. That joint sat through a hot Fresno week and I went back with a hammer last Friday and it rang solid the whole way across. Curious what grit someone else uses to scuff a cold joint before they hit it with slurry.
