Found out concrete curing temps matter way more than I thought

I was reading through an ACI guide last week and found out that if concrete cures below 50 degrees, it can lose up to 50% of its strength. That explains why that slab I poured in November had those weird surface cracks. Has anyone else had a cold weather pour go wrong on them?

Been there... that November pour mistake is brutal.

Oh man, November pours are like a rite of passage for anyone who does this. My first big one was a complete disaster, ended up wearing half of it down my shirt. Tried to be all careful with the candle and snuffer but nope, just made a waxy mess everywhere. At least now I can laugh about it and know to keep a towel handy next time.

Dropping half the strength is a brutal way to learn that lesson.
