Heard a guy at the supply yard say something about moisture testing that bugged me
This old timer was going off about how he never bothers with moisture tests on garage slabs because "the plastic always does its job." I've got a 30x40 slab coming up next week and I'm wondering if I'm overthinking it by running a calcium chloride test. Anyone else run into issues skipping the test?

Last time I skipped the test my garage floor grew a tiny lake.

Man that's risky (I've seen plastic fail too many times), always run the test.

My cousin Kevin skipped a test once and ended up with a 6 inch wide crack running through his whole slab. Dude tried to patch it with hydraulic cement and it just spiderwebbed worse than a broken phone screen. Now he's got this fancy epoxy floor over it but you can still see the line if the light hits right. Total nightmare for something that takes like 10 minutes to check.
