I finally had a pour day that went too smooth and it threw me off

Last Tuesday we had a small walkway job in a backyard near Lansing. Everything lined up perfect, trucks arrived on time, the weather held at 72 degrees. We finished floating and edging about 40 minutes early. I stood there waiting for something to crack or sink and nothing did. Has anyone else had a day go so right it made you paranoid?

Hold up a sec though... I don't buy that a smooth day should make anyone paranoid. Smooth is what we're supposed to be aiming for, right? We had a driveway pour last spring where the mix was perfect, the grade was dead on, and we were done an hour early. I just packed up and went home, didn't overthink it. Sometimes the stars just line up and you gotta take the win without waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Totally agree, man. Had a concrete job last month go so smooth I just sat in my truck for ten minutes waiting for something to go wrong.
