I used a magnesium float on a garage slab last week and it beat my steel one hands down

Everyone says a steel float is the only way to get a tight finish, but I tried a magnesium float on a 24x24 slab in the heat and it was a game changer. The steel one kept sticking and dragging because the concrete set up so fast, but the magnesium just glided over it. I got a much smoother surface with way less effort and no tearing. Has anyone else made the switch, or am I just lucky with the mix we had?

Totally agree! I read this article about how the switch can actually change your habits without you trying. Like, people who moved from a big phone to a smaller one just naturally started using social media less because it was less comfortable to scroll for hours. It wasn't a conscious decision, the tool itself just made the better choice easier. That kind of subtle design influence is so powerful. Makes the whole "never looked back" feeling make perfect sense.

Reminds me of when I got a dumb phone for camping. Came back and my regular phone felt like a loud, needy pet. Didn't plan on changing anything, just happened.
