Just realized my $45 aluminum screed saved my slab and my back
I used to fight with a wooden straight edge that bowed in the heat and left me chasing humps on a 900 square foot driveway in Columbus last summer. Bought a 10 foot aluminum screed for about $45 and the pour went flat on the first pass, no callbacks, no grinding. Two guys on the crew still swear by their wood ones and I get it, they're cheap, but mine paid for itself in one job. What are you all running for long runs, and has anyone had one warp on them?
