Overheard a contractor in Spokane say he charges a $500 premium for any job requiring a 'salt finish' because of the extra cleanup and wear on his equipment.

That salt finish talk reminds me of a guy who used to power wash our shop's concrete. He'd charge double if there was any de-icer residue, said it was like sandblasting his pump. Makes sense, @coleman.gray. Some materials just eat gear for lunch.
