Power trowel blades, I was dead wrong about aftermarket ones

For like 6 years I only ran factory blades on my ride-on trowel, figured the cheaper aftermarket sets would wear out fast or leave that washboard finish. Then last month on a 40,000 sq ft warehouse slab in Tulsa, my supplier handed me a set of their house brand blades because the factory ones were backordered two weeks. I put them on expecting the worst, but honestly they floated and burned just as smooth, and they held up through the whole pour without chunking. The catch is they cost about 30 percent less, so I actually ordered another set for the next job in Sand Springs. I still think cheap mag floats are garbage from that Amazon deal someone posted, but blades are a different animal. Anyone else run non-factory blades and see a real difference in finish or lifespan, or did I just get lucky with this batch?
