Saw a museum floor in Chicago that made me rethink broom finishes

Honestly, I was at the Art Institute last week and the main hall has this huge, seamless terrazzo floor with a super fine, almost polished finish. It made me realize we could push our broom textures way further on commercial jobs for a more upscale look. Has anyone tried using a finer-grit broom or a different technique to get a less aggressive, more uniform drag?

Oh yeah, a softer horsehair broom works great for that!

We switched to a nylon bristle broom and got a much smoother, more consistent pull.

Wait, a horsehair broom? That sounds crazy expensive for a jobsite. I can't imagine telling a crew to use something that delicate on fresh concrete. One wrong move and you'd ruin the whole section.
