TIL a contractor in Denver refused my flat finish because he said it would trap water
Ngl, i used to push flat finishes on every driveway but after watching him explain pooling issues on a 6 inch slope i switched to a light broom finish. Has anyone else run into a customer who insisted on a finish that just doesn't work for their site?

Fair enough, I used to be all about flat finishes too til I saw how bad pooling gets.

Pooling is nature's way of telling me my paint choices were wrong, I swear. Flat finishes are like that friend who's fun at parties but totally unreliable when things get real. @josepha32 probably watches his paint turn into a mini lake while the rest of us just stare in horror. At some point you have to ask yourself if the whole flat look is worth the risk of a backyard swimming pool situation.
