Tried a wooden float on a hot slab in Phoenix last month instead of my magnesium, and wow
Was pouring a 12x20 patio when it hit 108 out, and the mag float was tearing the cream while the wood float sealed it up clean. Way less worry about crusting over on a day like that. Anybody else switch floats based on temp or am I late to the party?
Heat changes the rules for lots of tools, not just floats. Same way you reach for a lighter oil in summer or grab a different blade for wet wood, the right tool shifts with the conditions around you. Matching your float to the temp is just reading the situation instead of fighting it.
