Warning: my last two slabs in the same driveway pour cured two totally different colors
I poured a 24 by 30 driveway in Fontana two weeks back and split it into two pours, one Monday morning and one Thursday morning, same mix, same supplier, same crew. Monday's slab came out a nice even gray and Thursday's looks milk chocolate by comparison, and I have been staring at it all week trying to figure out what I did differently. The only thing I can point to is the heat: Monday started at 68 degrees and Thursday hit 94 by 10am, and I think that second batch set up so fast that the color never evened out before I got the float on it. I also went through two different bags of color hardener because the first one ran out, and now I am second guessing whether they matched or if I just told myself they did. Customer has not said a word yet, but you know they will once the sun hits it right. Has anybody else had two pours off the same pallet come out looking like different jobs, and did you ever get them to match, or did you end up staining the whole thing?
