Can we talk about how long it takes to figure out a simple water filter issue
I bought a new fridge six months back. Basic model, nothing fancy. The water dispenser tasted off from day one. I swapped the filter twice, still the same. Took me a full three months to realize the problem wasn't the filter. The water line had a kink behind the fridge. I pulled it out during a floor job and found it. Fixed it in five minutes. All that time and money for nothing. Anyone else find a simple fix after way too long?

Oh come on, three months? That's on you for not checking behind the fridge sooner. The water tasted off and you just kept swapping filters like it was some kind of ritual?

Learned that lesson the hard way myself. Started putting a reminder on my phone calendar every six months to pull the fridge out and vacuum the coils, and that's when I also check the water line. Found kinks and a small leak that way that were way worse than any filter issue. Also switched to a clear water pitcher for a couple days so I could actually see if there was sediment or cloudiness, which helped me figure out the problem a lot faster than guessing.

Ditched the pitcher test idea myself after realizing it just showed me dirty water I already knew about.
