Had to choose between buying bulk ammo online or at the local gun show last weekend

I was looking for 9mm for my range trips down in Austin. Online had it for $0.24 a round but shipping took 10 days. The gun show had the same box for $0.30 but I could walk out with it in my hand. I went with the gun show because I needed it for a Saturday class. Anyone else find that local deals beat online when you factor in wait time?

Honestly that wait time kills online deals for me too, nothing beats walking out with ammo in hand.

Oh man, tell me about it. I remember driving an hour to a Cabela's once because they had a case of 9mm on the shelf for a decent price. I grabbed it, paid, and was back in my truck in five minutes. Meanwhile, my buddy ordered the same ammo online and it took three weeks to show up. By then, the range trip we planned had already come and gone. You're right @logan_ellis, sometimes instant gratification is worth the trip.

That Cabela's story from @matthewmartin really hit home for me. I used to think waiting for the best online deal was always the smarter move, but hearing about how your buddy missed that range trip totally changed my mind. Nothing replaces having it in hand right when you want it.
