I watched two different ways people try to debunk flat earth claims

One guy just yelled and called people stupid, which made them dig in deeper. The other person calmly showed a specific video of ships going over the horizon, frame by frame, and asked questions. After seeing that, I realized the quiet, step-by-step proof worked way better to actually make someone think. It took more patience, but it got a real conversation going. Has anyone else found that showing one clear piece of evidence works better than a big argument?

Honestly I've seen both ways fail. The calm proof thing works if someone is actually open to changing their mind. But with flat earth, a lot of people just move the goalposts. You show them the ship video, and they'll say it's lens distortion or CGI. It feels like you're just giving them more to argue against.

Pick your battles carefully with conspiracy folks. Some people just want to argue, not learn, and you'll spot them by how they instantly dismiss everything. Save your energy for conversations that might actually go somewhere.

Waste of time arguing with them.
