Just dropped $300 on a 'secret history' book that was all recycled internet posts

I saw this video about some hidden truth about the moon landing, and the guy kept pushing his book as the 'real story'. It cost $300 for the 'special edition' with 'never before seen photos'. When it showed up, it was just a bunch of blurry pictures you can find online and the text was basically a copy of forum posts from 2009. The binding was falling apart after one read. I feel like a total sucker for falling for the hype and not checking the source first. It's a good lesson to dig deeper before you hand over your cash for these 'exclusive' claims. Has anyone else been burned by a fancy looking conspiracy book that had nothing new in it?

Honestly, paying for the experience of getting scammed is a terrible deal. That $300 could have bought a whole lot of actual research or even a nice dinner. A book falling apart after one read is just a bad product, not some special event.

You're paying for the experience, not the paper.

Paying for the experience" is a great line until the experience is just being mad at a broken book. My last fancy purchase taught me that lesson real quick. Guess I'm just funding the "character building" part of the deal.
