My neighbor swears the city is spraying something at night and now I'm second guessing my own eyes
I live in a small town outside Boise and for the last 3 weeks my neighbor Dale has been knocking on doors with a clipboard about these white streaks he sees on his truck every morning. I blew it off at first, but then I noticed the same film on my windshield 4 days in a row even though I park in a garage. He thinks it's some kind of aerial spray program and the city won't say anything, and honestly the lack of any clear answer is what's bugging me more than the streaks. I want to hear from people who actually know how to tell the difference between regular dust, pollen, and something that shouldn't be there. Has anyone else dealt with this and found a real way to test it instead of just guessing?
The garage part is what would get me too, that rules out most of the normal stuff right there. Get a clean piece of glass or a mirror, leave it on your porch overnight, then look at it in the morning light with a magnifier. Pollen looks like yellow dust, road grime is dark and gritty, but a white film that dries in a pattern or leaves a chalky ring is worth sending to a lab, and most state ag offices will test it cheap or free if you ask.
