My propane smoker died at hour 6 on Saturday and a guy at the hardware store in Mesquite gave me a weird fix
I was doing two pork butts for a family thing on Saturday and the burner on my old smoker flamed out at hour 6 with the meat still stuck at 165. The guy at the hardware store in Mesquite told me to skip the new regulator and just swap the hose and crank the tank valve open slow, claiming the modern safety valves trip if you open them too fast. Has anyone actually tested that slow-open trick, or is it just something old grill guys say that doesn't hold up?
