My uncle in Chicago swore by the 5G chip theory, turns out he was right about something else

He kept telling me the new smart meter on his house was spiking his electric bill by $40 a month. I laughed it off as classic boomer paranoia. We compared his last 8 months of bills after he got it swapped out and sure enough, the average dropped right back to normal. Anyone else have a relative who was wrong about the big conspiracy but nailed the small practical one?

Did your uncle ever check if the smart meter was actually reading the neighbor's house too? My grandpa was convinced the cable company was stealing his Wi-Fi signal through the walls, turns out he was just leaving the router on 24/7. Ironic, cause the guy who thought satellites were tracking his every move couldn't figure out why his own electric blanket was spiking the bill every winter.
