PSA: I didn't correct my aunt's alien theory and it's eating at me

Last Sunday, my aunt was over for dinner and she started saying aliens built the pyramids. I just nodded along because I didn't want to start a fight. But after she left, I felt really bad about not saying anything. What if she thinks I believe it too? But if I had argued, it might have just made things awkward. Now I'm stuck wondering when it's right to challenge these ideas. It's a weird spot to be in during normal family time. I guess sometimes there's no easy answer in these chats.

Remember sitting through that awkward talk... it's like biting your tongue until it hurts. My cousin once swore the moon landing was fake at Thanksgiving, and everyone just stared at their plates. You want to say something, but the silence feels safer. Sometimes speaking up just starts a fight, and other times it plants a seed of doubt. Hard to know which way to go... family stuff is messy.

Ever wonder if your silence just agrees with them?

I watched this whole documentary on pyramid engineering last year. It made me realize how much we credit ancient humans with basic tools, so now I get why the alien idea seems easier to swallow. Still, explaining that over gravy feels like a trap.
