That 3 AM stain I found on my basement wall got my conspiracy brain spinning

I was doing a routine pest check in a customer's basement last Tuesday and found a weird, oily stain shaped like a perfect circle on the cinderblock wall. It had this faint chemical smell that reminded me of the stuff they use to seal old graves, and the homeowner swore nothing had leaked down there in 10 years. Has anyone else run into a stain that seemed too deliberate to be random, or am I just watching too many late-night docs?

Get that thing tested for phosphorescent traces yet?

Oh, did you catch that article in the Journal of Archaeological Science a few months back about phosphorescent testing on old stone tools? They found this crazy example where a flint axe head from a bog in Denmark still had faint glow spots after like 4,000 years, but only when they hit it with a specific UV wavelength. The researchers figured it was from some kind of plant resin the original owner used for hafting the thing, and the phosphorescence was from a mineral in the soil that got absorbed over time. Made me wonder if your "thing" might have a similar story, maybe from being buried near something like iron ore or bone ash. Could be worth a shot if you've got access to a lab with the right gear, but I'd check for any surface dirt first since that can throw off the readings totally.
