The airport gate agent who told me she tracks every plane she's ever flown on

Stuck in Boise for a 4 hour layover last month and this older woman working the gate starts chatting with me while she's waiting for her next flight. She said she keeps a notebook with every tail number she's ever boarded, going back to 1987. I laughed and asked why. She said it's the only way to prove the planes you think you flew on actually existed, because the airlines rewrite their history all the time. Said she's got 1,342 entries and three of them don't match any record the FAA can find. She showed me the pages. I didn't know what to say. Has anyone else ever met someone who keeps that kind of obsessive record, or heard of flights that just vanish from official logs?
