The night I realized I was the one feeding the rumor mill in Portland

I used to share every wild theory that hit my feed, especially the ones about the underground tunnels under Old Town. Then last November, I spent 3 hours with a city maintenance guy who actually works down there, fixing steam pipes. He showed me photos and permit logs, and I realized every 'secret entrance' I posted was just a utility access hatch. My own posts were the reason my friends thought I had insider info, but I was just repeating stuff from a blog that copied another blog. Has anyone else traced a story back to its source and found out they were the one spreading it all along?
