The Y2K bug was a dud for me, but the GPS rollover was real

Back in 1999 I was sure the Y2K panic was overblown, and honestly it kinda was for my old PC. But then in April 2019 my car's nav system went wacky on a trip through Denver, showing my position about 3 miles off. Took me a week to learn it was the GPS week number rollover, a real bug that actually glitched older receivers. I'd spent 20 years laughing at the preppers, then my own tech failed in a boring, predictable way. It made me wonder how many other 'fake' conspiracies are just delayed engineering problems. Has anyone else had a modern system fail for a legit technical reason they originally dismissed as myth?
