TIL I've been reading crop circle debunks backward for 10 years
I was watching a documentary on the 2002 Crabwood crop circle and the presenter pointed out that the face actually matches a specific alien described in a 1993 whistleblower interview. I always just assumed skeptics were right that it was hoaxers with boards, but then I checked the original photo timestamps and the detailed nature of the face goes way beyond what any night crew could do with ropes. Did anyone else buy the official story on these things without looking deeper?

Yeah I remember reading that same whistleblower interview a few years back and it stuck with me because the details were just too specific. The part about the hand position and the way the fingers curve matched up with some other crop circle photos I looked at later. @the_jessica brings up a good point about how people jump to the simplest answer without really counting all the evidence. That 127 line count is wild when you think about how precise it had to be without any modern tools.

Wait, have you actually looked into the timeline on that 1993 whistleblower interview? I dug into it last year and found the guy gave specific details about the face shape and eye spacing before the crop circle even appeared. How do you explain that without some kind of advanced planning or actual knowledge? The boards and ropes theory falls apart when you realize the face has 127 distinct lines and shading that matches what you'd see in a 3D scan.

Definitely adds to a pattern I keep noticing where people dismiss things as simple but the closer you look the more layers there are. @janarivera, it's like how sometimes the simplest explanation for something isn't actually the simplest when you stop to count all the details.
