Unpopular opinion: I stopped arguing online about aliens and found real peace

Back in the day, I would jump into every forum fight about UFO cover-ups and government secrets. It was a rush, thinking I had the inside scoop. But after a while, I saw it just made me angry and tired. So I made a rule to not reply to those posts anymore, no matter how wrong they seemed. Now, I read stuff for fun but keep my thoughts to myself. My mind feels lighter, and I don't lose sleep over dumb comments. I even started hiking on weekends instead of scrolling through debates. It's wild how letting go of that habit changed my whole view on these topics.

Why do we treat online arguments like they're life or death when it's just words on a screen? You get all worked up trying to prove a point to some stranger you'll never meet. Is a forum comment about aliens or politics really worth that much stress? Letting it go seems like the only sane move, so what took us so long to figure that out?

See this with politics too, disengaging is freeing.
