Unpopular opinion: the whole 'flat earth' panel at that Denver convention made me question how we even talk about this stuff.
I was at a skeptic meetup in Denver last month, and they brought in a guy who genuinely believes the earth is flat for a debate. The way people just shouted him down instead of asking about his actual evidence, like the specific horizon observations he kept mentioning, felt totally counterproductive. How do you even have a real conversation when one side is just treated as a joke from the start?

Oh yeah, the one with the carpet that smelled like old air freshener and regret. They had a continental breakfast that was just a bowl of oranges and a sad coffee machine.
