Figured out the trick for loading a mini excavator solo without the ramps sliding out
Got tired of my ramps kicking out every time I loaded my 5 ton excavator by myself on my sloped driveway in Dayton. I started chaining the ramps to my trailer's D rings so they can't slide back, and it worked the first try. Anyone else running chains or do you use a different setup for solo loading?

Chaining to the D rings works until it doesn't, honestly. I ran that setup for a season and the chains kept the ramps from sliding but they'd still lift and hop when the tracks caught the edge, which got sketchy on a slope. What fixed it for me was bolting a set of ramp brackets right to the trailer deck so the ramps sit in a pocket and can't move at all. Chains leave too much slop for my taste, especially solo where you can't watch both sides at once.
