A client's simple question made me question our whole tech stack
I was showing a homeowner our project dashboard, with all the schedules and photos, and she just asked, 'Is all this for you, or for me?' She said she checks the app maybe once a week, but really just wants a clear text on Friday saying what's happening Monday. We spent a ton on this fancy platform (like $400 a month for our crew) that does a hundred things, but her point hit different. It made me realize we might be buying tech to solve our own internal chaos, not to actually communicate better with the people paying us. Has anyone else scaled back on a feature-heavy system for something simpler that clients actually use?

You said the platform solves your internal chaos. What does that actually look like? Like, are you using it to stop crew mix-ups on site, or to make sure invoices go out on time? Because if it's just for your team's paperwork, maybe you keep it but stop showing clients that part. They might not need to see the machine.

But they already see the machine...
