Blew $600 on a drone mapping subscription I barely used
Signed up for that fancy drone mapping software with the yearly plan back in March thinking I'd use it on every site. After four months and only two actual flights, I realized I was paying for something that sat in my drawer while my old tape measure did the job. Anybody else get hooked by a flashy tech tool that just ended up collecting dust?

Used to swear by new gadgets but you just made me rethink my whole toolbox.

Aw man, here's the thing nobody talks about - those gadgets can actually make you worse at your job if you lean on them too hard. I've seen guys who can't diagnose a simple leak without their fancy camera scope because they never learned to listen for water running or feel for damp spots on the drywall. The real skill is knowing when to use the tool and when to trust your instincts. Plus, half those new tools break way faster than the old stuff and the replacement parts cost more than the tool itself. Sometimes the best gadget is just having a good pair of eyes and a brain that knows what to look for.

Huh, you're right... never thought about it like that before.
