Dropped $600 on a BIM coordination tool that couldn't handle our MEP clashes

I bought this fancy clash detection software back in February for a big hospital project in Nashville. The demo looked great (you know, all the bells and whistles) but when we loaded our actual ductwork and pipe models it froze every 15 minutes. After 3 weeks of fighting with it and losing billable hours, I switched back to our old Navisworks setup. Has anyone else burned cash on a tool that promised more than it delivered?

Man that's the story with half the software out there these days. Everything looks killer in a demo then falls apart when real work hits it.

Ha, you're not wrong. Though I'm still trying to figure out who actually uses half these "must have" tools after the first month.
