Honestly, I think the push for drones on every single site is getting out of hand

Last month in Phoenix, our drone pilot's mapping software crashed right before a critical client walkthrough, so I had to grab my old Nikon and a 100-foot tape measure to manually document the foundation pour progress in 110-degree heat, which actually gave us more detailed crack measurements than the automated report ever did. Has anyone else had to fall back on manual methods when the fancy tech failed?

Ugh, tech fails are the worst.

Oh, the sweet irony of old-school gear saving the day. Guess sometimes the best backup plan is a tape measure and a sunburn. They don't need software updates.

But what about when the old gear fails because it's just... old? My grandpa's tape measure snapped last year, and the sunburn just gave him a headache. Sometimes you need the new stuff to fix what the old stuff can't do anymore.
