I finally had a smooth Monday with the drone survey and that scared me more than any crash
Every other scan this year hit a snag on site, but last Tuesday the 30-minute Lidar flight finished in 22 minutes, the mesh stitched perfectly in one pass, and now I'm convinced the software is about to charge me for every ounce of good luck.

Three years in this field and I always told the younger guys that a clean survey meant you missed something. I never trusted it when everything went right the first time. But last month we had a full site scan come back perfect, no gaps, no reflights, and the client even paid the invoice without a single question. That experience shook me more than the time I dropped a $4,000 sensor in a creek bed. So now I get exactly what you mean about that smooth Monday feeling. Sometimes the universe just lines up and it feels like you are waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Ha, yeah that feeling never really goes away. I had one job a few years back where everything went so smooth I actually re-ran the whole flight just to double check, cost me three hours but saved my sanity. Turns out sometimes the site really is just that simple and you gotta let yourself enjoy it. That paid invoice with zero questions though, that's the part that would really make me nervous too.
