That fancy project management software nearly sank my crew last Thursday

My guys and I were running a full bathroom gut and remodel in a house out in Maplewood. Last Thursday we hit a snag with the tile order, so I checked the app we been using to track materials - said 300 square feet of subway tile was delivered to the job site at 7am. We get there at 8, nothing on the pallet. I spent 45 minutes on hold with the supplier while my guys stood around. Turns out the app synced the delivery confirmation from a different job across town. Lost half the morning and had to push the second floor rough-in to Friday. Has anyone else had their field data get mixed up between sites with these cloud based trackers?

Read something last week about how these apps sometimes mix up location data because they use bluetooth beacons instead of GPS. Sounds exactly like what happened to you - the tile delivery pinged the wrong job because the driver's phone connected to a beacon at the wrong site. My buddy in commercial remodeling had the same bug with a different cloud tracker. They shipped 200 sheets of drywall to a house that was already finished just because the app thought the truck was there. Cost them a whole day and a late fee from the supplier.

Cloud apps are great until they aren't. Had a similar mix-up with delivery times on a different platform and it threw off our whole morning, too. The double-checking cost us more time than the app saved.
