That new drone stitching software crashed my entire survey last Tuesday
Got 3 hours into processing a 40-acre lot in Austin and the thing just wiped all the data clean with no autosave, has anyone else had this happen with their mapping tools?

crashed my entire survey" - yeah that's rough, but I'm wondering if the problem is actually the way you're running the processing. I've seen this happen when people try to stitch big datasets on a laptop that can't handle the memory load. The software isn't great about warning you when you're pushing the limits. Have you checked if your machine has enough RAM for 40-acre surveys? I run into this a lot and now I always split bigger jobs into smaller chunks before processing. Saves me from these total loss situations.

@dianaanderson Have you looked into using a field computer with an SSD instead of an HDD for the initial data dump? The read/write speed difference can stop those memory bottlenecks before they start, especially if the software is trying to swap data to disk.

Tried the split method @dianaanderson after I lost a full day of drone mapping data. Took longer to process but at least I didn't have to re-fly the whole site.
