Tried BIM 360 vs Procore on a mixed use project in Denver
We had a 6 story mixed use going up near Union Station. GC wanted us on BIM 360 but our subs were all used to Procore. I ran both side by side for 2 months. Procore won for field updates and punch lists hands down. BIM 360 was better for clash detection but nobody at our level even uses that feature. The difference really showed when I had to track 47 change orders. Procore just made more sense for how we actually work day to day. Anyone else run into this where the fancy tool just doesn't fit the crew?

Stick with what the crew actually uses, that's the whole point.

Wait, so you actually ran both systems side by side for two whole months? That's dedication right there. Most people just pick the one the boss says and deal with the headaches later. I feel you on the clash detection thing though. Those fancy features are great for the engineers in the trailer, but on the slab with a tablet in your hand, it's all about what moves the work along. Punch lists live and die by the tool, and if Procore just clicked with your subs and your workflow, that's the real data point right there. Nothing worse than a system that looks good in a demo but falls apart when you're staring at 47 change orders.

Bet you had a few choice words for that BIM 360 salesman after week one of wrestling with those change orders.
