Bleach or balayage? I picked wrong and looked like a glow stick for a week

Client came in last Tuesday wanting a subtle summer look, and I had to choose between doing a quick bleach bath or a full balayage in 90 minutes. I went with the bleach bath to save time, but her developer was stronger than I thought and she walked out with neon orange streaks. Anyone else ever gamble on the faster option and immediately regret it?
